MANI SUL FUOCO

Disegna, sbaglia, accartoccia. Poi riprova. Schizzo dopo schizzo, ancora nulla. Ma se lo sbaglio fosse l’inizio di tutto, la base su cui costruire? Mano sul fuoco! parte da qui: dall’errore come primo passo di un processo in cui avere fiducia, per poi proseguire curando e limando il proprio lavoro con costanza, spesso ripartendo proprio dalle prove che sembravano sbagliate. Mettere la mano sul fuoco presup- pone un danno, ma nell’iconografia classica la virtù della fortezza è raffigurata proprio mentre compie questo gesto. Mano sul fuoco! celebra l’errore come presupposto di cura: dell’arte, di sé e del territorio. Un dialogo tra i numeri di dintorni Elogio dell’errare (01) e Alveo (02, in uscita a ottobre), attraverso lo sguardo di chi ha illustrato le pagine della rivista. Draw, make a mistake, crumple it up. Then try again. Sketch after sketch - still nothing. But what if the mistake were the beginning of everything, the foundation upon which to build? *Mano sul fuoco!* (Hand in the Fire!) starts right here: with the error as the first step of a process to be trusted, followed by the steady refinement and polishing of one’s work - often starting over from those very attempts that seemed like mistakes. Putting one’s hand in the fire implies injury, yet in classical iconography, the virtue of Fortitude is depicted performing this very act. *Mano sul fuoco!* celebrates the error as a prerequisite for care - care for art, for oneself, and for the local area. It is a dialogue between the *dintorni* issues *Elogio dell’errare* (01) and *Alveo* (02, releasing in October), seen through the eyes of the artists who illustrated the magazine’s pages.
